Running Plan
With help from the professionals at Sport Otago, MoveMe has created two running plans. One is for the absolute beginner and will see you from doing no running to running 5km in 6 weeks. The second plan is a 12 week running plan for those wanting to do a 10km run. We hope these plans help you reach your running goals whether it is competing in a running event or increasing your activity levels... while getting out and enjoying Dunedin!

Sport Otago has some great information on easy walks and a 10,000 step program for those who are just getting started in walking for exercise. Click here to be taken to more information on their website.

Do you want to know where you can exercise your dog in Dunedin?
Exercising your dog is a fun way of getting active and Dunedin has some great areas created specifically for you and man's best friend. Your dog does not necessarily have to be on a leash in these areas, but you have to keep it under control. There are bins provided for droppings.
The Dunedin dog parks include:

Are you 55+ and looking for activities in Dunedin?
Age Concern Otago offers classes all over the city in their falls prevention programme including Tai Chi and Strength & Balance targeted at people 65 years and over. For more information see their website or phone 03 477 1040.
The Octagon Club is a seniors Club for people 55 years and over and offer activities and groups for people to take part in. Contact Tristan or Lois on 03 477 0141 for more information.
University of Otago opportunities
There are many opportunities to try a wide range of recreation activities on the University of Otago campus. The two recreation centres offer a large range of arts, crafts and leisure activities, including dance classes, gym based activities, martial arts, outdoor recreation, yoga and much more. Classes are open to tertiary students, University staff and the general public.

Dunedin Kindergarten Local Neighbourhood Maps
